Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis could both fight on the same bill in June - but not against each other.

Talks are under way for the two heavyweights to appear in separate fights of a heavyweight double-header.

The bouts could take place on 21 June with the Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo, New York State, the home of the Buffalo Bills, one of the preferred venues.

Possible opponents for Lewis include Vitali Klitschko, Kirk Johnson or Buffalo's Joe Mesi while Tyson could face Oleg Maskaev.

Lewis had been hoping to fight Tyson, but Tyson says he needs at least two more fights before he challenges Lewis for the WBC title again.

Although Lewis has a contract calling for a Tyson rematch, talks are being held for the two fighters to appear on the same card and push the rematch back to a later date.

"We're trying to work that out," said Shelly Finkel, Tyson's manager. "That's part of the ongoing negotiations."

WBC vice-president Ruben Martinez has said that Lewis has until 30 June if he wishes to fight Tyson.
