Alex Cooke

Alex Cooke is a 17 year old junior at Southwest High School in High Point, NC where she was the 2003 state high school 3A champion in the 100 backstoke. She swims year round for the Greensboro Swim Association. This year she won the North Carolina long course championship in the 50 freestyle, and the 100 backstroke. Alex hopes to continue swimming in college. Congratulations to Alex for being chosen as the travel4sports athlete of the week.
Welborn Middle School volleyball team

Congratulations to the Welborn Middle School volleyball team for completing an undefeated season. The Wildcats, coached by Steve Hazlip won every match this year and only lost only one game on the way to winning the middle school conference championship. Many members of the team also participated in Junior Olympics tournaments this year and finished the year with a great record.
Team members were Stephanie Lester, Kimberly Faison, LeAnne Hoyle, Blaire Wright, Maria Vera, Jettanna Thomas, Quydaysha Hairston, Dimitra Hatzudis, Bianca Ritchwood, Tyesha Smith and Spencer Tatum.
